Diaper Dance Party

16 Months Already Here

Today my babies are 16 months old.  My friend said, "just wait you will be planning their 2nd birthday before you know it."  THAT I am not ready for just yet.  My husband absolutely cannot wait for time to go by (at least he says that) because he wants to do fun things like take them to baseball games, play catch, etc.  I just want them to come snuggle with me!  Is that so much to ask? :)

It seems like they learn something new every single day.

Fynn (Fynnie) - he behaves so well and minds his mommy and daddy so well!  I just say his name and he comes as fast as he can.  He is currently a dancing machine!  He has 3 moves.  The side step.  The squats with the fist pump.  The spin in circles.  Sometimes he does all three in a sequence - side step, squat with fist pump then spin in circles.  Repeat.  It's so cute!  He even gets a very concentrated look on his face.  He LOVES TV - or I should say Sprout.  He loves to stack cups and put things inside other things.  He has his ornery moments, like jumping all over our sectional sofa.  Literally leaps and jumps head first into the cushions.  That scares me.  He likes to point and say gibberish as if he is telling me about something important.  He likes to say "ball" and "this" and tries to say "cheese."  He will of course say MAMA!!!  :)  Fynn is not a fan of new foods and is VERY picky!  He won't eat meat but will eat salmon sticks and tofu.

Sutton (Bubba) - He might be the most passionate child I have ever known.  He just lights up the world with his cheesy grin and giggles.  His laugh comes from the belly.  He too is a dancing machine but he pretty much just jumps up and down and spins in circles.  Sometimes he will throw in some twists and flails his arms.  He still says, "uh oh" a lot but says more words than his brother.  He tries to say "thank you" when handing out toys.  He too will say MAMA!!!  This boy  LOVES his Kiki (my mother-in-law) and when she is around that is who he wants.  He's my good eater....will eat most things we put in front of him or at least try it.  Sutton is still our little climber and his all-time favorite game is hide-and-seek.  He will open cabinets just to hide behind the door.  He loves peek-a-boo too. Both boys LOVE books and will bring them to you when they want you to read to them.  They will also sit and flip the pages and pretend to be reading themselves.

With my Kiki

They are still on the same schedule for the most part.
Wake at 8/8:30.
Eat Breakfast - either scrambled eggs with cinnamon raisin English muffin or french toast sticks (we LOVE Earth's Best) or Oatmeal with pureed fruit (peaches, strawberries, banana, etc.)
9-11 Play or run an errand
11-1 Nap (Sutton sometimes is allergic to sleep and fights it for 30 minutes or so)
Lunch - something different but usually a protein, cheese, whole grain and fruit
2-4 Play or we run errands (grocery store, Hobby Lobby, etc.) Now that it's nice out we can go outside but we need more outside toys and a fence.
4 - Snack (whole wheat toast with hummus, fruit, etc.)
4:30/5 - 6/6:30 - nap (Sutton is hit or miss with this one)
7/7:30 Dinner
Play, Bath & Bed at 8:30

I'm thinking of trying to cut them both down to just one afternoon nap but I just don't see them staying up until noon without some hysterical fits.  I tried it one day and lunch was a disaster.  We will see how it goes over the next few weeks.

These two boys light up my every single day!  I got teary-eyed the other day when I said the words, "my son."  I still look at them and THANK GOD for them.  It still doesn't fully sink in at times that I am a mommy.  I. AM.BLESSED.
